Global Supply Chain Lead, Pharma Solutions

Build and Personally Deliver the Supply Chain Backbone of a Growing Global Pharma Business

Pharma Solutions is a growing business within Croda, serving pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and veterinary-health customers through innovative excipients, vaccine adjuvants, peptide technology, lipid technologies, and formulation expertise. As the business scales globally, reliable supply execution is essential to customer trust, operational performance, and sustainable growth.

The Global Supply Chain Lead will build the global supply-chain operating model for Pharma Solutions, connecting commercial demand, manufacturing capability, inventory strategy, inbound material security, warehousing, logistics, and customer service through one disciplined and scalable process.

This is a hands-on individual-contributor leadership role focused on creating capability rather than managing a large existing organization. The successful candidate will personally drive planning, governance, stakeholder alignment, process implementation, and change adoption across a complex global matrix.

Why Join Pharma Solutions Now?

Pharma Solutions is at a pivotal stage in its evolution. As a growing business within Croda, we are bringing together industry-leading capabilities across pharmaceutical excipients, vaccine adjuvants, innovative lipid delivery systems, and formulation expertise to create a more integrated and scalable global organization. With strong customer demand, ambitious growth plans, and continued investment across the business, this is an opportunity to help shape the future of Pharma Solutions.

This role offers the opportunity to personally establish the planning, inventory, and customer-service backbone needed to support the next phase of global growth.

Operating Style

This role is intentionally designed for a leader who enjoys building rather than inheriting. Success will come through personal execution, credibility, and influence rather than through a large dedicated team.

·    Create processes, governance, and ways of working where capability is still evolving.

·    Personally drive implementation, stakeholder alignment, and adoption through to sustainable results.

·    Influence across functions, sites, and regions without relying on direct authority.

·    Balance strategic thinking with a willingness to stay close to the detail and solve problems directly.

What Success Looks Like

Supply Chain Transformation & S&OP Leadership

·    Design and implement a globally aligned S&OP / Integrated Business Planning process across Pharma Solutions.

·    Personally establish and run a disciplined monthly planning rhythm connecting commercial demand, manufacturing capability, inventory strategy, and customer commitments.

·    Translate strategy into working processes, decision forums, data standards, and visible improvements in forecast quality and planning transparency.

·    Drive adoption directly with functional and site stakeholders until new ways of working are embedded.

Customer Service Reliability & Supply Continuity

·    Own global accountability for OTIF performance and customer-facing supply reliability.

·    Improve responsiveness, communication, and escalation of customer supply and delivery risks.

·    Build resilient continuity plans across sites, logistics networks, and critical raw materials.

·    Strengthen customer confidence through realistic, consistent, and transparent supply commitments.

Inventory, Working Capital & Network Excellence

·    Establish and personally drive a global inventory strategy that balances service, risk, cash, and obsolescence.

·    Improve working capital and establish clear inventory ownership across the global network.

·    Define and optimize warehousing, distribution, and logistics strategies, including regulated and temperature-sensitive requirements.

·    Use data, ERP, and planning technology to improve visibility, decisions, and operational performance.

Builder Mindset & Execution

·    Build global supply-chain capability from the ground up while also carrying the day-to-day work required to make it effective.

·    Convert ambiguity into practical plans, decisions, and repeatable routines.

·    Take personal accountability for progress rather than waiting for additional structure or resources.

·    Operate comfortably as both strategist and practitioner in a resource-conscious environment.

Core Capabilities

Builder Mindset: Creates structure where none exists, converts ambiguity into action, and remains actively involved until sustainable outcomes are achieved.

Strategic Perspective: Connect long-term business priorities with practical supply-chain solutions that enable growth and customer success.

Delivery: Translate strategy into measurable operational improvement through disciplined personal execution and accountability.

Working Together: Build alignment across Commercial, Operations, Finance, Procurement, Customer Service, Quality, sites, and regions without relying on direct authority.

Adaptability: Navigate complexity, ambiguity, and organizational change while maintaining focus on business outcomes.

Curiosity: Challenge assumptions, identify root causes, and continuously improve planning and supply-chain processes.

Experience & Expertise

·    Leadership experience in supply chain, planning, and integrated business planning within pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, CDMO, or biologics; experience with pharmaceutical excipients such as lipids, peptides, and vaccine adjuvants is advantageous.

·    Proven success personally building and implementing S&OP / IBP, demand and supply planning, inventory strategy, and customer-service disciplines in a growing or transformational environment.

·    Demonstrated success leading through influence and personal execution rather than through a large team or multiple management layers.

·    Comfort operating as both strategist and practitioner in a resource-conscious environment.

·    Experience improving working capital, inventory optimization, supply reliability, and continuity.

·    Knowledge of warehousing, logistics, GDP expectations, and cold-chain or temperature-sensitive distribution.

·    Ability to influence stakeholders across functions, sites, regions, and cultures without relying on formal authority.

·    Strong analytical capability and familiarity with SAP, ERP, and modern planning or IBP technologies.

·    Ability to communicate clearly around supply risk, inventory strategy, allocations, and recovery plans; experience supporting commercial pharmaceutical customers is advantageous.

·    A relevant degree is required; APICS, CPIM, CSCP, Lean Six Sigma, MBA, or equivalent qualifications are advantageous.

Role Scope

This role does not initially lead a dedicated direct-report team. Results will be delivered primarily through personal execution, matrix influence, collaboration, and the ability to align stakeholders around shared priorities.
